Something is coming after Tiffany...
Tiffany Aching is ready to begin her apprenticeship in magic, but life isn't exactly what she thought it would be.
She expects spells and magic - not chores and ill-tempered goats! Surely there must be more to witchcraft than this?
And Tiffany will find that she needs her magic more than ever, to fight off the insidious, disembodied creature that is pursuing her.
This time, neither Mistress Weatherwax (the greatest witch in the world) nor the fierce, six-inch-high Wee Free Men can protect her. In the end, it will take all of Tiffany's inner strength to save herself.
A Hat Full of Sky is the second book in the Tiffany Aching series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order.
The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

Terry Pratchett follows up his The Wee Free Men (which PW called "an enthralling and rewarding read" in a starred review) with A Hat Full of Sky, starring the young witch Tiffany Aching. Tiffany leaves home and the little blue Nac Mac Feegle to apprentice for Miss Level. Meanwhile, Tiffany, some powerful witches and the little blue fairies must defeat the hiver that stalks her.

While this is a Discworld sequel, Terry Pratchett's novel can stand alone. Tiffany Aching faces the tests of young witchhood, challenging the force of evil and acting as heroine among a memorable cast of characters: Miss Level, her "double" mentor, the Nac Mac Feegle, and a gaggle of girls who mirror today's adolescents. The combination is both compelling and hilarious. Stephen Briggs's superb narration brings to life the trials, setbacks, and triumphs of Tiffany, as well as Pratchett's trademark humor. Briggs's performance is finely tuned and gives clear nuance to the characters. L.D.H. 2005 YALSA Selection (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine
